I put together this poem on my family's magnet board, on the evening after my brother's service. Everything was fresh; I felt so overwhelmed, conflicted, and lonely, despite all the friends and relatives in our house. The limited vocabulary of the magnet board made it easier to convey my feelings, because it made me focus on which words would say the most. I included the 1-Up mushroom magnet because my brother loved Mario, and that powerup gives an extra life.
